What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine integrates current advances in medical science with centuries-old, natural, non-toxic, and non-invasive therapies. Naturopathic doctors search for the underlying causes of disease and then apply the healing power of natural therapies to stimulate the body’s inherent healing response.

Naturopathic doctors are trained not only in the application of natural therapies, but also in the conventional medical sciences such as anatomy and biochemistry.  Naturopaths take detailed medical histories and employ standard diagnostic tools such as physical examination, standard blood and other laboratory tests, and x-rays. They also perform nutritional and dietary assessments, metabolic analysis, and allergy testing.
